Beginning his career at an early age, Mike Hoffman, started out as a junior volunteer fireman for Dover Volunteer Fire Dept. Showing motivation and an eagerness to advance he moved up the ranks landing him the position of Fire Chief, where he remained for five years. Because of his compassion when it came to helping his fellowman, Mike enrolled at Lenoir Community College to obtain his Basic Law Enforcement Training in 2003. Upon leaving the fire department, Hoffman held the position of Deputy Sheriff for Jones Co. until taking his leave in 2007. Also on his list of accomplishments is his outstanding job as a police officer for the township of Pink Hill. Always going above and beyond the call of duty in any situation, in February 2009 Mike pursued a career in Lenoir Co as an EMT-Basic, with full credentials of an EMT-Intermediate to follow by May 2010. Currently, Mike is a full time EMT-I with Lenoir Co. Emergency Services as well as a full time police officer for the town of Pink Hill. By choosing two individual careers in public safety, Mike not only demonstrates his compassion and willingness to help those in need on a daily basis, but also shares a glimpse with us of the man behind the shields. Mike Hoffman, along with his family, wife; Jolen e, daughter; Brittany (19), and son; Jacob (13) reside in the Sandy Bottom area of Lenoir County.
